On June 7, 2016 Wakulla Adult Education and Alternative Education students participated in a well-attended graduation ceremony at the Wakulla County School District auditorium.
Earning their diplomas from Wakulla’s Alternative Education program were Marc Anacan-Carter, Dakotah Curtis, Jakale Forbes, Kelsey Moore, and Lashay Webster.
From Wakulla’s Adult Education program, graduates were Frances Deitz, Fred House, Thomas Hughes, Alliyah Jones, Sarah Lake, Erika McKown, Emily Pilkinton, Haley Quick, Shane Rockwell, Robert Seaman, Aysia Sullivan, Alexis Tully, Jason Tyler, and Jacob Wells.
Superintendent Bobby Pearce noted, “We are proud of these students who persevered to earn their diplomas. I know they will go on to pursue careers with the confidence that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.”
Alternative Education Administrator Mike Crouch and Adult Education Administrator Dod Walker joined Superintendent Pearce in congratulating the graduates.
Former Wakulla County School Board member Jerry Evans was the guest speaker. School Board member Becky Cook led the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem.
Families, friends, teachers, staff, and administrators celebrated with the graduates afterward at a reception held for the students. “We are so proud. These are happy tears,” said one parent.
